Troop 133

Churchville, New York

Black Creek District

Otetiana Council

History

Troop 133 was established on September 23, 1992 with ten boys and ten adult Committee Members.  Our organization is chartered through the Churchville Lions Club. This charter is renewed annually in January.

Philosophy

Troop 133 was established with the intention of providing a well-rounded program for boys while encouraging advancement, camaraderie, and responsibility.  Parental involvement is required and may be accomplished by serving on the Committee, taking turns participating in overnight camping and special events, driving to Scouting events as needed, and helping as needed when requested.

All Scouts will abide by Troop 133 Rules of Conduct as established in September, 1992.  Each Scout and his parent/guardian will be given a copy of these rules upon induction to the Troop.  Both the Scout and his parent/guardian should sign these rules in the space provided and return this signed commitment to the Scoutmaster.

Charter Organization

Troop 133 is chartered by the Churchville Lions Club.  The Lions Club has agreed to pay the troop’s re-charter fee, to pay the registration dues for all adult leaders, and to provide a representative to the Troop Committee.  The troop is obligated to provide annually to the Lions Club a troop roster, a budget, an equipment inventory and a calendar of troop events.  A representative of the troop is expected to present annually to the Lions Club the Troop Charter along with a summary of the “State of the Troop”.

Committee Members

The troop committee is composed of all troop officers, the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters and interested parents.  The committee is responsible for financial and logistical support to the troop.  The committee sets troop policy on activities, financing, discipline, etc.  The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters in conjunction with the Patrol Leaders Council plan and carry out the troop program in accordance with the troop policy.
